We have been replating trees in order to save the earth from climate change. The Riverie has also been restoring, protecting and stabilizing the banks of the Kok rivers against flooding and erosion. We have released fishes back into the river in order to help restore the damaged ecosystem. Specialized built dams have been erected in order to achieve water resource efficiency and maximize the use of water for conservation benefits.
We are focused on using efficient modern Inverter Air Condition units, as well using buildings with active temperature control and the changes into modern LED bulbs to save energy and reduce our carbon footprint.
Solar panels help provide thermal energy for our water heating with uses in our showers and faucets.
Ko Green is the Riverie’s organically-produced fertilizer created at the resort.
The Riverie by Katathani aims to be a Zero waste resort following the principals: recycle, reuse, refill, repair, return, and reduce. The hotel commitment to use environmentally friendly products and replace all the amenities in the room with refillable pump instead of plastic bottle. In order to reduce the waste of old plastic bottles.
The Riverie by Katathani’s reuses all of the bottle caps from re-usable glass bottles are donated to manufacturers in order to help produce prosthetic limbs.
Harmonious with society and the local community, we also aim to attend all local events, help to donate essential equipment to local schools and organizations. The Riverie also invites local villagers and partners to participate in environmental activities.
We also help. to create job opportunities for the local villagers by offering day trips to the hotel guest to travel around Chiang Rai by rickshaw to support local jobs and shop vendors. Our team also help to educate and train the local community in various techniques from how to correctly dress a salad to the correct method on how to plant vegetables for sustainable job development.
